Urud dal Jamoon

Ingredients: White whole urad dal – 1 cup Sugar – 1/2 cup Water – 1 cup Elachi – few crushed Oil to fry

Method: Wash and soak urad dal for 2 hours. Then drain the water completely and add it to a grinder and grind well. Sprinkle very little water. Once its grinded to a fine paste take out the batter to a bowl. Heat oil in a pan. Take small balls out of this batter and put it into oil. After 5 mins turn it to the other side and allow it to cook well. When its golden brown remove and add it to a plate and allow it to cool.

In a separate pan add sugar water and crushed elachi and boil well. When it has reached a syrup like consistency switch of the flame allow it to cool and add the fried jamoons. After half an hour remove the jamoons from the syrup and serve.

Note: While grinding batter just sprinkle very little water. Sugar syrup should be thin in consistency. It should not be too thick.
